Has any real team ever gone 38-0?

No. The closest Premier League example is Arsenal's 2003-04 Invincibles, who went unbeaten but finished 26-12-0 because of twelve draws. Manchester City's 2017-18 Centurions reached 100 points with 32 wins, but still lost twice. Other famous unbeaten seasons, including Juventus in 2011-12 and Bayer Leverkusen in 2023-24, were also not perfect. Unbeaten is legendary. 38-0 is something else.

The game engine keeps 38-0 mythical but reachable. Your ceiling is mostly decided by three things: a very high squad rating, an elite goalkeeper, and no obvious weak spot in the XI. Clear all three and a perfect season becomes possible. Miss one and you are more likely chasing the Invincibles tier: zero losses, but one or more draws stealing perfection.
